“Aba” in the Kitchen
With nothing much to shout in Sg. Pelik, we decided to go down further to Melacca – Aunty Chu’s where we are bound to have much more fun, surely. It’s on this day itself that we drove back to PJ from Sg. Pelik, and from PJ down to Melacca. Logistic wise we were terrible, as if petrol price has no effect on us?! At least we fed the doggies..
Instantly we felt the family feel.. the warm warm ppl with warm warm smile and real real welcome. The ‘entertainment’ started with not much delay, the usual 3 kaki mahjong table transformed into a table with more than 6 ppl. And the night goes on with me burning my pocket. Uh huh, no such lady luck this year.. the golden boar clearly dislikes the kuku doggie.. In no time, i was found paparazzi-ing the pinkies.

Well this 1st pinky “victim” clearly likes the idea of being paparazzied, she curi curi senyum – like wanna pose but pai seh wana pose kinda feeling – so smile smile a bit bit, wait till i get those big big dSLR, then she sure pose chun one.

This 2nd pinky “victim” is a senior in this field, she is calm and cool and ignores the camera while focusing on the focus – clocking her average 5 mins++ composing of 1 sms.
Caught a glimpse of the FA Cup 5th round match of Fulham vs. Spurs, half time leading 1-0 and being an spussy, had true confidence in the team and went to sleep. Hah! Turned out 4-0 winners. Note, it’s an away match and it’s only the 2nd away win of the season.. (now i’m confused, shud i be proud?!)
The next day was THE DAY in this piggie year. Highlights of the following actions are from the kitchen.
![]()

Wholley freshy, Yee’s fren got it down under – it’s illegal now, shh..![]()

Still dunno wat’s it? Now got 3 for u to guess.![]()

Geez, looks like 2 piece of slightly ugly breast ei?![]()

Okay, now let’s squeeze it hard hard see wat’s in it?![]()

Woops~! Time to chop it into pieces.
![]()

They are buddies, this being long and shoots something when triggered.![]()

Slicing meat and cutting skin can be very satisfying :)![]()

Master chef in action – make the meat stim steaming the meat![]()

And then he curi makan test his food.![]()

But this one confirm curi makan! Caught red handed!

![]()

And then pose with son to act innocent & divert attention![]()

Our self-declared assigned official food tester of the day![]()

This reaction can only come from the stomach heart – certified passed!!![]()

Homemade rojak kau kau sharkfin soup![]()

ah..the smell is all coming out, oh..rose’s butt is shaking up![]()

But no matter how rojak it is, this is precious.![]()

In the end, the mysterious meat still look mysterious ei? ![]()

And then we eat – look at those hungry faces!![]()

And then energy recharged – entertainment restarts, with more kaki![]()

The top winner is always laughing happily, so are the ppl around her :)
Most of the food was wollapped during lunch. The mysterious meat, if u’re still unsure til now, is abalone. Fresh abalone smuggled caught from Australia, heard it has been banned lately for some reasons tat is obvious.
Time to feel the effect of the meal.

When you are not ready to pose, u are natural and everything seems to be bloated normal, and u dun smile much cuz u know somethings is wrong.

But when u know wat’s wrong with the pose, u rectify urself even though it’s temporary just for the sake of the camera. You look better and flatter fitter and now u know how to smile, cuz u look good for that 3 seconds of frame. :)

And then when u got the hook of how to pose to look best, u maintain the same style as long as the cameraman tells u to, making a superman pose and head must look away from the camera. After the camera flash fades, then only u go back to normal stance.
Kuku verdict: 4/5
Most of the enjoyment was during the preparation and cooking of the meal – Though didn’t contribute much, besides cutting some canned abalone using a primary school scissors. Even this only, also failed – was caught having few pieces of it un-cut. The fresh abalone turned out slightly off, over steamed a lil’ and it was like chewing fat pork meat, oh and next time, the dark part would need to be sliced off as it’s too hard – lesson learnt! (the chef claimed to be a virgin in cooking fresh abalone). Besides that, would be glad to say tat this really kicked off my CNY mood for this piggie year! Oh and also, this will be remembered as “how kitchen can be a fun place for guys”.
ps: thanks narrowband for sharing the CSS photo gallery, gotta know tat the previous theme couldn’t support this gallery and so i’ve got it changed. Tried to do some customization but in the end hit a road block – was stunned to nutz when found out in the end tat the pictures dun appear when u click into the post itself, was cursing u for not mentioning anything bout this ahh.. but well.. thanks again!

Wow Jian!! Words cannot describe how happy I am to see that you actually found my so-called-tutorial useful!! And you managed to do it!
Though I don’t really understand why your previous theme couldn’t ‘support’ this, I’m still very impressed! (I am a firm believer that any theme can support this).
A little bit of fine-tuning and your CSS Photo Gallery will be perfect! (it’s perfect in IE, but not really perfect in Firefox – it’s a small problem though. Try using Firefox and observe ;) )
You added the shadows for ‘img’ in CSS ar… be warned, I’ve run into some problems with the shadow. For example, my “feedburner” image (showing how many readers) is an ‘img’ entity. I needed to do something more to actually remove the shadows for this little image.
Moreover, smilies (unless you turn it off) will also take the ‘img’ entity (therefore they will have shadows). Any ‘img’ stuff will have shadows.
Other than that, I LOVE YOUR WORK!!

Uhm, by the way, Jian, the second row of the thumbnails doesn’t work. (Sorry I was too overly excited). I think you missed your <div class=”bgallerycontainer”> for the second row.
