A Red Lighted Berliner Christmas

Posted in Been There Did It, Berlin, Confessions, LOL, Outing & Event on December 27th, 2008

And so it was Christmas in Berlin for 2008. Having no plans wat so ever, it could get pretty dull.. but being spontaneous, here and there, it could be pretty turning on despite it being pretty silenty night..

AlexanderPlatz is one of those hotspots that tourist come as their 1st few spots in Berlin, yet.. i am a virgin and had a good eyes scream on how could i not know of such a lovely place. It just adds in more humanly touch with a ice skating ring in the center of the Christmas market.. and i really did not laugh at those that fell of skating, really..

And then there is Santa with his big Coke truck as his very big macho machiney red mustache reindeer, still having good charm in attracting lil’ kids to his side..

I am a witness, tat it’s the parents of tat kid tat wanted this picture more than the poor kid herself..

When u have Santa and coke with the red white colour overdosing the area, there ought to be red light beaming around, and then probably spot focusing on the next nearest red light district in Berlin, ahh~ apparently the red beams are shooting upwards to heaven, oh well.. no tips for red light district area then, or probably only for those tat can fly..

Oh, it has spotted and redified the angelic Victoria~ Didn’t know Siegessäule could look so, ermm.. red..

And did a Toy Town Christmas pot luck dinner with several very cool similar berlin bounded english speaking ppl~ the food and the company was great, the hospitality was very warm, and i did not spend Christmas all by myself! Which i was actually quite prepared for in the 1st place~

And we watched one of the most hilarious comedic performance i have ever since in my life, and i am not exaggerating :) “Silence~ I Kill U!!”

A very belated merry sexy Xmas u all~!

Gaylaysian Day in Berlin

Posted in Been There Did It, Berlin, Confessions, Food, Now I Know on December 23rd, 2008

And so i met up with some Malaysian in Berlin. It was pretty spontaneous and great ppl, great company, great malaysian-style communication. Yesterday, had a great chinese dinner with ????, i was licking and munching on the crunchy porkie skin like no one’s business.. some chinese version of fried kuey teow and better still, got to “guo dong” with “tang yuen”, home made style.

Black sesame tang yuen, it was actually my 1st time tasting it.

Ok, i admit tat i dully and boringly described wat happened wat was indeed a much better time. What can be more exciting and homely feel than eating home made food and meeting fellow malaysians in cold lonely berlin. Just.. i got to let it out, something..

I got pretty overexposed to gayness.

Firstly, i must say tat i have nothing against ppl’s orientation and preference of sexes. Following are some words that have not a single intention of discrimination, and i confess tat, i actually did enjoy being with them (?!), and they are really really (x100) cool ppl with very nice heart and personality.

Ok, tat’s for the foreword.

I just learnt that, there are quite a number of gay malaysians coming to berlin to seek for their legal “approval” of their status. Pretty obvious, constitutions in Malaysia do not recognize same sex marriages and Berlin is on of the destination for these sorts.

Ok, most of us know tat. So i’ll just go to personal experiences.

I have this nickname of “gay lou” and “gay zai”, but it’s purely on the surface without me possessing the actual substance of gayness. I have several frens back in Malaysia who are “one of them” and we actually do hang out – totally cool and fun, they really are easy going and always have good concerns for ppl around them.. it’s a very good thread that they just have in them, something like a pre-requisites.

And they do give good laughs and cheerful moments. And the moment of stepping into their apartment, u know tat u are in their world, with loads of arts, and i hereby admit tat i found myself unresistingly staring and peeping at those arts..

And there was this little spark of moment, while 3 of us were walking in Media Markt on to the gay DVD section, where I was asked:

“???gay???” (you aren’t gay right?)

I didn’t really know how to respond to this, and said:

“???”(not really am)

He gave a pretty confusing look with a “huh?!”, and then followed up with:

“???bi?” (so, are u bisexual?)

I knew I got to be very very clear on this, and said to him.. while really starting to feel uncertain and really taking care of the next few words coming out of my mouth..

“???????” ( I am not, not all of it)

Damn, I was quite uncomfortable and didn’t really know how to answer. A straight direct “No” felt a little too stern and impolite to just say out like tat and therefore resulted in me getting into a little scenario there.. and another thing is, he was not sure of my orientation and tat is why he asked just to confirm it?

This was a total different way and feel of confrontation when a straight asked me yesterday, “are u gay ar?”, and knowing she is straight, I could answer directly with real ease and charm.. pretty different situation when a real gay asked, well lets just say tat I got a little too overwhelmed..

Lesson learnt, and again, I have to confess tat I enjoy my time and will probably hang out with them tomorrow.. just tat, I kinda have the urge and need to be with some straights, yet my land lady is not in and so I am now resorting to typing this out here.. and I will now switch on to another episode of Californication.

ps: pretty pissed with KuKuJian.com being inaccessible from europe due to underwater cables disruptions, lasted for 4 days, of where there are loads to share.. well.. at least it is up now..

When WeihnachtsZauber is Magical

Posted in Been There Did It, Berlin, Outing & Event, Travel on December 14th, 2008

And so Christmas is now really really around the corner..

it is getting pretty obvious now, or say since 2 weeks ago. Many Christmas market is being setup in almost all venue in Berlin that has the term “platz” on the location. They call these “WeihnachtsZauber”, which translates directly to Christmas Magic. But it actually means layman Xmas market.

This 1 is one of those that actually collects entrance fee of €1~ given the impression tat it’s one of the more prestige ones. Well, it did turn me more on as comparison to the other ones tat u could just walk in..

it has some real angelic elves, looked very very fairy-ly up closed, too bad the shots appeared blurry due to some magical uncontrollable vibration aura tat the elves sprinkled on any1 tat gets too close to them..

and these oversized eye balls shark and gold fish actually do look very cute in person. The sharks dont bite and the gold fishes dont chew like they usually do..

it was just beautiful to be around there. Top it up with a mug of Glühwein and i felt pretty warm and satisfied.. Now all i need is some itineraries for the actual Xmas period..

Finally Hugging the Big Bladey Pole

Posted in Been There Did It, Berlin, Sustainable on December 12th, 2008

And so i lost another virginity.. we read loads about it, we talk so much concerning it, we see pics slutting on every angle of it, and yet, i haven’t really touched it.. and this time, i got real up close and personally..

From far, i can already smell it’s juice..

and then, after all these years, i finally had the chance to lick it’s long hard and freakingly cold pole from the bottom.

This is 1 of the most produced wind turbine by Vestas, V90. A 2 MW rate wind turbine tat personally, i could easily live on it for the rest of my life, and some good buddies can join me as well.. :)

it was like meeting Britney Spears face to face after all my teenage years of fantasying.. It felt that amusing being so close to it, really..

When Idol Makes Me Wet, Almost Always..

Posted in Confessions, Emotional, Family, Music, Swedish Svenska on December 9th, 2008

I really miss swedish.. miss the sound and melody that comes together with the language.. the last time i heard swedish live in person was on a tour bus around berlin city, where i eavesdropped 3 swedish tourist and really couldn’t resist approaching them.. with a pretty rusty “kommer ni från sverige?” (guess u guys can figure out the english equivalency?) The conversation eventually switched to english.. there is also a colleague tat had studied in Stockholm couple of years ago and we do some basic hej hej and jättebras.. nice~ but i still miss the overwhelming feeling of having swedish ejaculating all around me.. though i mostly do not understand wat are they saying.. personally, swedish just sounds, so much more, warm, friendlier and fun than german. Ok now shoot me for being biased..

My 2nd swedish lärare, Margret, and i now feel really guilty for not dropping her an email ever since i came to berlin.

i miss swedish so much so tat i just can’t resist sharing this video clip from the recent Sweden Idol 2008. It’s been a while tat i saw it and i really shud have shared it then, but the fact tat it keeps popping up in my mind everytime i think of swedish, says its volume i guess.. The moment i saw this on TV, instantly knew that this will be so stucked in my heart for a long long time.. and yes it did..

Anna Bergendahl sings Have A Heart..

kindly show some respect and have some nice patience going through the building up of the performance.. after all swedish is really a beautiful language and well if u beg to differ, there are subtitles and somehow, i do believe u won’t be cursing the wait.. and dun let me catch u dragging forward the scroll bar !@$#%$@#!#@

did it just made ur eyes a little wet? i confess, it made mine wet, almost all the time i listen to it..

KuKu Viking Excerpt on Uppsala University Website

Posted in Been There Did It, Sustainable on December 5th, 2008

Sometime beginning of this year, i did a little contribution on a swedish masters programme portal. That was pretty simple, it was like blogging and typing it all out and sending it in and got published.. And then, my butt got a little itchy and this time i went for an actual interview, by the main administrative department of Uppsala University, and felt real good being listened to my stories.

Following is the full excerpt that i stripped from the actual site, and click on the ‘interview’ tab:

Favourite place in Uppsala
I love to sit beside the river that has recently been renovated for the Carl von Linné, 300 year celebrations. My favourite bench is always available, right next to the ducks. I find it rather relaxing to watch the ducks swim around, even in the middle of the winter. It’s really quite beautiful and peaceful.

About Sweden
I knew I wanted to study abroad, and initially I only looked toward the US and larger countries of Europe; Great Britain, Germany. It was important for me to find a country that I could get around with in English. I have friends who study in Germany and asked them how much English I could use outside the university, and they said, “Oh, no, you will have to learn German also.” And then I saw that Sweden had programmes and courses in English and that one can get by quite well with English outside the university. I have found this to be true, but have opted to try to learn Swedish also.

About Uppsala University
From the homepage of www.studyinsweden.se, I found very many universities in Sweden but I only really recognized and had heard of two, Lund and Uppsala University. I even asked some friends and employers back home what universities they knew of in Sweden and they immediately said, “Uppsala!”

About the programme
Even though I have a completely different educational background (engineering), I felt that Sustainable Development was a very important subject to continue studying. It is extremely relevant for the future and very much work needs to be done to make changes and inform people about our environmental needs. Since I have heard so much from the media about the dangers of the planet, I knew I wanted to get involved in someway.

About the difference
There are very big differences in studying this programme than the one I am used to. I really look forward to learning more each day. This is mostly because my professors and lecturers are totally engaged in their subjects and this triggers the student to want to know more. I truly feel that they want me to learn and this creates an optimal learning atmosphere. I dare to ask many more questions than I ever have before because I know the teachers will not laugh at me or treat me with disrespect. Since our class is very diverse—30 foreigners from over 10-15 different countries and only 8 Swedes—our smaller group work is very interesting because I learn so much from my classmates and get such a global perspective on the subject.

About the future
I hope to gain some important work experience from either Sweden or Europe after the programme. I think this, together with my studies, will enhance my opportunities to return to Malaysia and work in this expanding sector. Maybe a PhD, that would be good, but mostly I hope to look for practical experience.

Recommendations for future students?
Find a place to live before arriving! Everyone in the class and many more I have met recently, have had a very difficult time to find housing. At first, I was very spontaneous and came hoping it would work out. Well, I didn’t know there were so many other students who thought the same thing! Eventually it did work out, but it took some time and few extra weeks at the expensive hotel.

I gotta confess, tat the words being published here is indeed not a 100% true reflective of my style of writing and sharing. Lotsa key words tat i frequently use such as banana and my definitions of virgin (1st time encounters, duh!) to name a few, are not in the text. And that some of the sentence in this published text are not truly accurate of my position, the points are there, just tat.. it doesn’t sound like wat i would say.. It has cranked up some words and to boost university purposed publishings, so it is important to keep in mind, tat this is an interview report of me, for the sake of university, and written by a really nice friendly administrator from the university.

It was a good moment though as u feel really important and tat some1 is actually really taking down wat u are saying and turning it into a professional test for the purpose of sharing with many future students tat will actually believe and take serious wat they are reading here.

In addition to that, i felt like a celebrity for 14.3 seconds there, with a huge dSLR cam flashing on my 17 times (if i didnt lose count)..
